Cara Pearson
Rising bisexual model, Cara Pearson, is blowing the fashion industry's mind with her homemade fashion pieces. Confident, passionate and intellectual, Cara has a strong feminine personality who stands for what she believes in. Cara tells us all about her life at home and how she spends time when not on the runway.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
"Hey, my name is Cara Pearson, I'm a 17-year-old British model. I spend my free time tucked up with a good book or working on my next crochet project. When I'm not modelling, I'm studying for my A-Levels, I aspire to go to Cambridge and study Psychology."
How did you get into making crochet fashion?
"I started to crochet during the first COVID-19 lockdown during March of 2020. I was incredibly bored stuck at home and wanted to find a new hobby to keep me busy. My first creation was the famous Harry Styles JW Anderson cardigan which took me about 5 months to create. It remains one of my favourite pieces I have made. My most recent project has been my pastel rainbow sweater inspired by Tom Daley."
What are your tips for keeping a healthy mind?
"I have previously struggled with mental health myself, so this is a topic close to me. I found that what helped me to stay floating during times of tough mental health was keeping myself busy but also allowing myself time to rest when I needed to. Listening to your body is crucial, don't push yourself too much. Mindfulness also kept me calm during high anxiety periods such as when I started my first job. I found that keeping a journal and practicing my breathing really helped me to stay grounded."
